Function Keys Locked

Using a blend of magic and divviness, on my laptop keyboard I managed to lock my function keys onto the symbols which offer alternative actions like volume and PrtScr etc. Annoying as it was, I had (past tense) no idea how this happened and lived with it for a couple of weeks, until the pressure got too much for me :-)

Fortunately, though, I now know how to to undo (or do!) it:

  • Hold the Fn key and Escape, where escape on my keyboard has this symbol which is a padlock with an Fn inside.

To re-do it, do the same again.
